A personal note from Staci:
2025 Spring Book Club: Where are my people!?
Spiritual misfits hungry for community...
Jesus followers wanting more than traditional church...
Faith seekers yearning to dive deeper into God...
Or just plain book lovers...
If any of these describe you, then a) you are indeed my people and 2) I have an invitation for you. 😁
Last Spring I hosted an online book club for Sarah Bessey's Field Notes in the Wilderness. Hearing about others' evolving faith was inspiring. And it confirmed what I have long believed: a healthy spiritual life is not a stagnant, closed system. Our experiences change us, expanding our understanding of God and others. What a joy to share stories, to encourage and be encouraged, while reading Sarah’s book together.
This Spring I’m hosting another online book club for An Altar in the World by Barbara Brown Taylor, one of my all-time favorite faith writers. Author, teacher, and Episcopal priest, Taylor writes books that are like wise friends walking alongside you, pointing out moments of beauty and truth you might otherwise miss.
Here’s what her publisher says about An Altar in the World:
"With the honesty of Elizabeth Gilbert and the spiritual depth of Anne Lamott, Taylor shares how she learned to find God beyond the church walls by embracing the sacred as a natural part of everyday life. In An Altar in the World, Taylor shows us how to discover altars everywhere we go and in nearly everything we do as we learn to live with purpose, pay attention, slow down, and revere the world we live in."

If, like me, you want to live with purpose, pay attention, and slow down—especially now, when it’s so easy to feel anxious and distracted by doom scrolling on our media feeds—please consider joining us!
Starting March 12, we’ll meet Wednesdays on Zoom from 7:30-8:30 pm CT for 6 weeks.
